Reminder, there is no youth group for the next two weeks. That is the day after Christmas and New Year.

Progressive Dinner Recap

Yesterday, We had a great time at our progressive dinner. We had 22 young people and went to three homes. Here are some group pictures of the event.

This December 12

This week we will be having a normal youth group.  However next week will be our progressive dinner.

Caroling Wed Dec5th

The youth group will be caroling to those members of our congregation who are homebound. After we are done we will be going to Round Table Pizza for food and fellowship. Come @ 5:30 help make cookies! All ages are invited, let Jeremy know if your coming so we can have enough drivers.

We still need drivers, so let me know if your parents can drive.

Mini-Golf

Don't forget that this Wednesday Nov 28 is a Mini-Golf Night. The Golf will officially start at 6pm, but I am hoping that y'all will come early to help me create the course.

I got to see the birth of my nephew. He was born on Saturday at 4:58pm and weighed 7lb 13oz....It was cool.

HS Gathering

Alright it looks like we had zero interest in the HS Gathering, but that's ok.

High School Gathering (OCT)

Hey Friends,

I just received info for this years ELCA High School Gathering.

Where: CLU & Renaissance Hotel
When: Friday Oct 12 - Sunday Oct 14
Cost: $68 before September 24.


This event is going to be awesome, we will have fun with hundreds of other youth and grow closer to Jesus at the same time. There will be great speaker, good music, and a time to help serve others in the name of Jesus

Painting & Youth Room

Hey Friends,

Wednesday Night
It looks like this might be our last week of painting the youth room. You all have done a great job. I will post some pictures of your work soon.

Friday Night
This Friday we will all be going to Magic Mountain. So far, I have only recieved money from one family and a phone call from another. Soo with that said, I need your money now!

Here is the schedule for Friday.

meet at the church at 6:15pm
Leave the church at 6:30pm (if your are not here then you will be left behind)
7pm-1am have a great time at Magic Mountain
1am leave Magic Mountain and start dropping kids off at home.

Hello Friends,

This week we will not start the painting of the youth room. We have an opportunity for service and fellowship with The Lutheran Church in Inglewood. We are going to help them for one night with their VBS. Here is the plan. We will meet at the church at 4:50pm and leave at 5pm to get there by 6pm, traffic will be bad so we need to leave early. Please let me know if you will be able to make it. Also if you have read this on the blog let me know.

BEACH CAMP MEETING

All youth attending beach camp must attend the Beach Camp Meeting. It will be Wednesday June 20th at 6:45pm. This is a meeting for parents and youth.

BEACH CAMP!!!!!!!!

This summer the Jr. & Sr. High Youth are invited to join us for beach camp. The dates are June 25-29. The cost is $100. Please let me know if you have any questions ASAP.

When: Sunday April 29th right after the second service.
Where: Paseo Colorado. Let's meet after the service so we can ride down together.

What is CYFM?

What is Children Youth and Family Ministries?

I am often asked this question. People mainly want to know how it is different from the ministry of the church as a whole.

My response is that the CYFM is not different than a part of the ministry of the church, but a specific focus in it. The goal of CYFM is to minister to families with infants up to college aged young adults. It is important that we not focus just on the children, but the family as a whole, giving them tools in which they can minister to each other--parents to children, children to adults, sibling to sibling, friend to friend. Though we have a paid Pastor and Family Minister as well as two interns, it is the job of the entire people of God to encourage each other to and in the Faith of Jesus Christ. That is why we are here.
