Remember friends there is no youth group tonight, but we are having an Advent service at 7:00pm...be there.

Christmas Progressive Dinner

6:00 pm- Arrive at the Church
6:15 pm- Arrive at the Schmit House for Appetizers
7:15 pm- Arrive at the Samuelson's house for our main Course
8:15 pm- Arrive at the Reinhard/Vallejo house for our dessert and gift opening

Bring a gift with a value of no more than $15. We will do our annual round-robin gift exchange.

I also need to know who is coming so let me know right now.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but we have some late breaking news.

The flamingo fundraiser has begun.

Here is how it works.
People give us money to put flamingos in other people's yards.
It's really fun, we go out when it's dark, and put the flamingos out.
They then find the flamingos the next morning.

Youth Gathering.

Ok friends, we have 7 people signed up for the youth gathering in New Orleans. I need to know ASAP if you are going to attend because we are going to start fundraisers immediately. We need to raise about 1,300 per person....God help us...PLEASE!!!!!

Wednesdayl, Oct 1

First and foremost....Thank you to the Drange family for taking the reigns and preparing the coffee fellowship for the weekend. I heard the Reinhard helped out as well.

This Wednesday we will be having youth group at our regular time. We wil come together for food, (provided by the Drange Family), games, singing, and a Study.

This Wednesday we are having regular youth group. It is bring your own fast food night, so make sure you show up with some kind of delicious meal.

Ok Friends,

This Wednesday we are having our parent meeting starting at 6:00pm. We are going to do it in a Potluck style so please let me know what you are going to bring.

It should go for about an hour so please show up on time. Our agenda will be discussing the Chrysalis weekend, The National Youth Gathering, Fundraisers and the events for the rest of the year.

After our meeting we will have youth group as normal.

Friday.......Magic Mountain

Alright friends, tonight is the night we are going to Magic Mountain. Here is what you need to know.
We will be meeting at the church at 6:00pm. Please make sure you have eaten beforehand. Bring $30 in cash for the entrance ticket and any extra money that you may want to spend in the park. I advise that you bring a light sweater or long sleeve shirt to wear. Also due to recent thefts at Magic Mountain don't bring any purses or bags because you will have to leave them at base of the ride. Only bring stuff that you can keep in your pockets. Also bring good walking shoes. Brett will be driving his family and Connie will be driving the remainder of y'all. They will also be bringing you back to La Canada and your respective homes around 1am.

Try to get a nap after school. I can't wait to see you, we are going to have a great time. Also our friends from Spirit of Joy are going to be there so lets try to connect with them.

Dodge Ball......Here is the info.

We will be meeting at LCIF at 2:45pm.
Sunday May 4th
Time: 3:30-7:30
3:45 Tom's Shoes promo video, Welcome, Rules etc.
4:00 Start Tourney
6:00 Quarter finals-6 teams
6:30 Semi-Finals-4 teams
6:50 Final Game-2 teams
7:10 or so-Pass out Trophies/Pinkberry Gift Certificates to Winners of Tourney and Costume Contest!

Teams of 6 in "costume"...they just need to look like a team, but there is a costume contest for those who want to go all out! 
Both genders on teams. 
Middle school and High school can come.
No more than 2 youth leaders on floor on a team at one time. 
You can substitute people throughout the tournament as long as they only play for one team. So for example, we are putting about 8 on each team just in case people don't show up, get tired, get hurt etc. 
I will explain the rules and where everything is at 3:45. For example, if you hit someone above the top of their stomach, you are out.
There will be Wii, Rock Band, other video games, Catch Phrase, Spoons, Tom's Shoes, music and food.

I need to know by Wednesday who needs a ride on Friday and who will be going. We will be leaving the Church at 5:45pm, so be there on time. (If you dont need a ride meet us at Mountasia at 6:30) We will be golfing and doing other stuff from 6:30 to about 9:30pm but we may stay later. Check out their website here http://mountasiafuncenter.com/MHome.asp I think the best deal is the $19.99 wristbands that lets you play golf, bumber boats, and go karts. However, check out the site to see if it's worth it to you, you can choose what you want to do and how much money you will need. See you then!

Third. We have a dodge ball tournament coming up for Jr. high and High School Students Sunday May 4th at 3:30pm @ Brentwood Presbyterian Church. I will need to know ASAP who want to challenge and beat the Presbyterians.

Bowling

Well, we had a great time bowling this last week. There were fourteen young people that joined us for this event. We bowled for 3 hours and Evan rocked our world with his amazing speed, I think he hit 24mph, that was more than Brett. I think Evan also had some of the best scores of the night. Here is the group picture, for more pics check out the bulletin board outside the fellowship hall.
